Jewell High School Athletics Center

Jewell, Oregon • 2023

Though the Jewell School District is one of the smallest in the state, they provide excellent education and opportunities to their students at their rural campus tucked away in the mountains of northwest Oregon. In order to better serve their students, they expanded their athletics facilities with a new 10,000 square foot practice gym and remodeled an additional 5,000 square feet of athletic spaces, including locker rooms, accessible restrooms, a weight training room, and a concessions area. Project highlights include a custom maple playing surface, motorized court dividers and basketball goals, and a high-efficiency heat recovery mechanical system. Integrated graphics by Deer Island Studio add life to the space and tie it to the community’s history. We worked closely with Cove Built LLC to deliver a turnkey design-build solution that met the District’s budgetary and scheduling goals, delivering a finished product that the community can be proud of for decades to come.

I could always count on Jim to be well prepared for each presentation or meeting. He and his team brought thoughtful design ideas to the table that could be discussed as a team. I thoroughly appreciated working with Jim!
